Get Involved

There are many ways in which members can participate to help support the mission of the Academy of Certified Archivists.

ACA Speakers Bureau
The ACA can sometimes provide instructional materials for its members who wish to give a presentation about certification. Contact the Regent for Outreach to request pamphlets, a traveling display, talking points, or other handouts.

Recertification Petition Review Teams
Any certified archivist is eligible to serve on a petition review team when a vacancy occurs. Petition review teams review the documentation submitted by certified archivists to verify the eligibility for recertification by petition. Contact the Regent for Certification Maintenance to volunteer.

Exam Development Committee
Membership in this committee is selective. Participation is sought from a wide range of qualified archivists. The committee meets once per year for two days. If interested in being considered for service on this committee, contact the Regent for Exam Development.

Officers and Regents
Candidates for officer and regent positions are mostly sought in December and January. To nominate a candidate or to enquire about running, contact the Chair of the Nominating Committee.

Newsletter Contributions
We are transitioning our newsletter. Check back for new opportunities in 2022.

Traveling Exhibit
If you plan to attend an archives conference or regional meeting contact the Regent for Outreach to find out if the ACA is sending an exhibit. Volunteers are needed to help coordinate shipment of our traveling exhibits from conference to conference and to staff the table during vendor expositions.
