Archival Recertification Credits

Sponsors of archival seminars, workshops, or institutes are encouraged to have their events pre-approved for Archival Recertification Credits (ARCs).

ARCs are points that Certified Archivists earn by participating in archival continuing education activities and apply toward recertification. Pre-approval for ARCs shows participants that your program qualifies as a professional development opportunity in one of the archival domains, and may encourage certified archivists to attend an event.

To apply for pre-approval, complete the on-line application form. The Regent for Certification Maintenance will review the application and assign the number of credits to be earned by Certified Archivists who attend the event. Upon approval, the Regent for Certification Maintenance will issue a certificate to your organization confirming the number of credits accrued by participants in the activity, and this document can then be duplicated and made available to those attending the session. When you announce your activity you may mention that every participant will earn credits toward certification maintenance. There is no charge for pre-certification of ARCs.

Past programs for pre-approved ARCs can be browsed here.
