In 1999, 57% of the respondents had 16 years or more of experience; 43%
of the respondents had 15 years or less of work experience.
In 1989, a minimum of five years experience was required to petition
for certification. At that time 89% of certified archivists had a minimum
of 8 years of experience and only 11% had between 5 and 8 years of
experience.
