The question is: "which of the following motivated you to seek archival certification?" It is answered by circling all that apply. There were 766 responses. The results in 1999 reflect the results in 1989 with "desire to make a contribution to the profession" the most frequent motivation and "career mobility" a close second. "Career advancement" is the third choice, "peer pressure" worked with 102 respondents or 13%, and 8% were influenced by their employing institution. |
