1999 Membership Survey: Facts, Figures and Trends

Methodology

• Members are those who paid their 1998 dues.
  
  
• Members are those who sought certification by petition in 1989 and have since recertified, those who are emeritus, and those who have certified by examination in the intervening years.
  
  
• The 1999 questions remained true to the 1989 questions in order to compare results more easily between the two survey years.
  
  
• New questions were added to help the Board improve member services.
  
  
• 719 questionnaires were mailed in 1989; 689 were returned for a 97% response rate.
  
  
• 624 questionnaires were mailed in 1999; 444 were returned for a 72% response rate.
  
  
• The survey was completely anonymous.
  
  
• The survey data was entered into a Microsoft ACCESS database created for this project then transferred into EXCEL for analysis and to create charts and graphs.
