In addition to the highest academic degree earned, the questionnaire
asked how the archival component of overall education and training was
acquired. This resulted in 919 responses as some respondents obtained
their archival component from more than one source.
In 1999, 25% obtained the archival component of their education in
graduate school; 29% attended a workshop; 23% had field experience in a
practicum or internship; 16% attended in-house training program; and 100%
indicated that they had attended at least one professional program as part
of their overall archival education.
In 1989, 57% obtained the archival component of their education in
graduate school; 63% attended a workshop; 43% had field experience in a
practicum or internship; 44% attended in-house training programs; and 95%
attended at least one professional program as part of their overall
archival education.
